Diabetics, Actos and Bladder Cancer: In another actos study, related to diabetics actos and bladder cancer, the researchers state that “the diabetic patients on Actos had slightly higher rates [of particular] cancers than did the non-Actos users.”
In the study related to Diabetics, Actos and Bladder Cancer, the researchers in the diabetics actos and bladder cancer study concluded that the “differences were not large enough to be significant” and “that Diabetics have similar stage distribution regardless of pioglitazone (actos) use.”
In other words, the researchers in the diabetics actos and bladder cancer article state that the development of the cancer was not that much different when they looked at diabetics, non-diabetics and those that either used actos or did not use actos.
Although, the study states that several other studies may suggest an association between pioglitazone (Actos) use and the development of bladder cancer.
Actos (pioglitazone) was first approved for use in the United States in 1999. In 2003, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requested that the manufacturer of Actos, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, conduct a ten-year study to evaluate whether Actos is associated with an increased risk of bladder cancer.
Actos is sold under the brand-name Actos ((pioglitazone) class of drugs which help to lower blood glucosue levels), may be sold in combination with metformin (Actoplus Met, Actoplus Met XR) and glimepiride (Duetact) and may be used along with diet and exercise to improve control of blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
We are currently investigating claims involving the development of bladder cancer arising from the use of Actos and can help you file an actos lawsuit.
