Uterine Surgery, Bag, No Bag, Power Morcellator & Uterine Cancer: A recent article in published in PubMed examined using a bag with a power morcellator and not using a bag with a power morcellator during laparoscopic power morcellation hysterectomy and myomectomy and how this affected time variables and tissue dissemination (spreading of the cells being morcellated).
The article looked at laparoscopic surgery (laparoscopic uterine surgery (e.g., uterine fibroids)) from a little under one hundred patients and appears to conclude that the bag morcellator surgery took a little longer than the no bag morcellator surgery (note: malignancies or bag disruption were found).
