Pineapple Enzyme That May Boost Mesothelioma Treatment

A recent study published in NIH finds a pineapple enzyme that may boost mesothelioma treatment.  Bromelain – the pineapple enzyme that may boost mesothelioma, asbestos, mesothelioma cancermesothelioma treatment – used in treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma may become a new standard in drug treatment for peritoneal mesothelioma.

According to the report, malignant peritoneal mesothelioma (MPM) is a rare neoplasm of the peritoneum, causally related to asbestos exposure with a late diagnosis results in poor survival (<1 year).  Common treatment with cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy has improved survival in some patients (median 3-5 years).  But,  a pineapple enzyme may boost meosthelioma treatment because:
