Xarelto Loses FDA Vote

YAZ, ACTOS, FEN-PHEN, ACCUTANE, FOSAMAX, PAXIL, ZOLOFT,AVANDIA, PRADAXA, RISPERDAL, Zoloft, Paxil, PRadaxaTRASYLOLXarelto loses FDA vote.  According to a recent FDA panel vote earlier this year, Xarelto should not be used to help prevent heart attacks and strokes 90 days after patients experience serious chest pain or cardiac illness.  The drug manufacturer has attempted to gain this type of clearance from the FDA three times.

Xarelto, manufactured by Janssen Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, has been widely prescribed. But, there may be some problems that may be associated with the use of Xarelto (Rivaroxaban. These problems may include:

  • gastrointestinal and cerebral hemorrhaging
  • kidney injuries
  • stomach ulcers
  • heart attack
  • stroke
  • thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpora (TTP)
  • and death.
